Duties and Responsibilities
The Sheriff serves as the chief law enforcement officer of the county. The Sheriff also serves as the chief officer of the Chancery and Circuit Courts with responsibilities such as, maintaining the county law library, the county courthouse, jail and protection of prisoners. The Sheriff serves a four year term and may run for re-election.Sheriff March serves on the Mississippi Leadership Council for Aging (TRIAD) and Jail Detention and Correctional Committee.
