Located 4 miles south of Durant off I-55, Exit 150. The most centrally located of the state's parks; Holmes has two fishing lakes, nature trail, amphitheater, skating rink, archery range, and group camping with meeting room. The park offers tent camping, 12 cabin units and 28 camping pads.
English Lake and Odum Lake are stocked with Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, and Largemouth Bass.

Hillside NWR encompasses 15,572 acres on the eastern edge of the lower Delta. The Refuge has a diversity of habitats that supports hundreds of wildlife species. The NWR is part of the Theodore Roosevelt Complex. Visitors not only enjoy hunting and fishing but also photography, birdwatching and other activities.

The Morgan Brake NWR is located approximately 3 miles north of Hillside NWR. The Refuge encompasses 7,400 acres and is noted for it's large numbers of wintering waterfowl. It is home to over 250 species of birds. Bird watching and wildlife observation are just a fiew of the activies the refuge offers.
